What is your position at Orchard?
Director of Educational Services – The Educational Services department develops and publishes educational materials, executes blended training programs for clients and Orchard employees, and supports the systems that disseminate these materials and programs. I also have the privilege of leading Orchard’s 30th anniversary celebration committee!
What type of work did you do before joining our company?
I worked as a contract technical writer before joining the company as Orchard’s first in-house technical writer.
What excites you about working at Orchard?
It’s rewarding to see that the work we do supports labs across the country in providing timely and accurate results that help patients get the best care possible. On top of that, I really enjoy my coworkers! I’m grateful to have gotten to work with such great people over the 23 years I’ve been here, and I’ve made some long-lasting friendships.
What do you like to do when you’re not at the office?
My favorite thing is to spend time with my husband ballroom dancing, travelling (especially car trips with stops at offbeat roadside attractions), and attending concerts and plays. I also enjoy putting together puzzles, painting, and putting together themed parties for my friends.
Motto or personal mantra?
If it’s worth doing, it’s worth over-doing!
Where’s your favorite place in the world?
If it’s time to relax, then I love Sanibel Island in Florida, but for fun I enjoy seeing the latest that Las Vegas has to offer.
What’s the last play you attended?
We just saw Clue at the local dinner theater, and it was so good!
What’s your secret talent that no one knows about?
I’m really good at adding rhinestones to ball gowns. To be honest, this really comes down to having the patience for it!
What is on your bucket list?
There are definitely some destinations I need to get to, including Hawaii and New Zealand.
What music is on your phone?
I have a little bit of everything on there, but it all tends to be music you can dance to—Salsa, Swing, Cha-Cha, Waltz…you name it!
