As we have for many years, Orchard continues to support Special Olympics of Indiana. The pandemic environment made several of their annual events impossible; however, they still held their premiere event—the Plane Pull Challenge—where teams go head-to-head with a Boeing FedEx 757 jetliner in a game of tug of war.
Orchard trainer Ed Roberts, who participated in the Plane Pull challenge this year, reflected on the event: “The Special Olympics Plane Pull Challenge was back this year after a year off from COVID. While restrictions brought a smaller than usual group of Orchard employees and their families to the event, Orchard still entered two teams to pull the FedEx 757 and led the Corporate division for a short time.”
Jacob Carlisle and Sean Millard also participated in Hot Shot Basketball Challenge at the event. Overall, the 2021 Plane Pull Challenge raised more than $126,000 for the athletes.
We highly value our ongoing relationship with Special Olympics of Indiana, and our team members look forward to participating in their events every year.
