The Orchard Technical Support team came together in the Carmel, Indiana office Oct 7-11 to celebrate the team’s accomplishments—and have a little fun. The yearly tradition gathers together some 40 members from the Technical Support and Support Project teams from Central Indiana and a few states outside the Midwest.
The Technical Support team—available 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year—assists Orchard customers with issues that arise within their Orchard systems. Within the last year, Technical Support implemented direct-to-agent telephone calls for high- and critical-priority cases to provide faster overall service response time to our customers. Support Week is a time for Orchard Software to celebrate these important employees and their hard work and dedication.
“Celebrating our Tech Support team is about recognizing the crucial role they play in keeping everything running smoothly. They’re often the unsung heroes, solving problems behind the scenes, responding quickly to issues, and ensuring that our work environment is productive and efficient,” said Andrew Freeland, Employee Readiness Coordinator. “Support Week not only shows our appreciation but also reinforces their importance within our organization, boosts morale, and fosters a sense of community. It’s our way of saying ‘thank you’ for their patience, dedication, and expertise—qualities that benefit everyone, every day.”
Megan Blottie, Support Team Lead, helped to organize this year’s activities, which included a Family Feud-like game show, a virtual Guess Who? game, a challenging scavenger hunt, dress-up days, and a competitive rock-paper-scissors tournament. One of the special activities she planned and designed was a community mural that staff members could color during their downtime, or to get a few moments of relaxation and stress reduction.
“Coloring is something they really like,” she said. “It’s one of those relaxing activities that helps you get out of your head.”
In addition to the fun activities and collective meals, the teams came together to work, plan, brainstorm, and network with one another.
“We bring everyone into the office to get some collaboration time that we don’t necessarily get in our hybrid environment,” Blottie said. “It’s a way to take the barrier of the screen away and get comfortable speaking to one another.”
In their monthly team meeting, they also got to hear from guest speakers from other Orchard Software departments and learn more about other initiatives and departments around the company.
“Seeing the office full was my favorite part,” Blottie said. “We had a really great week. We had a good time and everyone left happy.”
